When we inquired why he was moved the instructor (Judy Marsh) told me that my son wasn't good enough for her class. When he started the new class my wife noticed he was moved from one class to another with in the first 10-15 minutes. My son had taken be in the Learn to Swim Level 3 class for the past 9 months. The final straw was the last class he attended. They would then go back and find his record on file and place him back into the correct class. When I would inquire why he was moved back to the beginners level, I was told that they had no record of him. Several times he was placed in the wrong level. ![]() They showed no concern that they left a 3 year old alone in the swim area. When I saw that my son had been left alone inside the swim area, I took him home and spoke with the instructors the following class. One class there were storms outside so they moved all the kids (except mine) to the classroom. When my son first started lessons at this location he was 3 years old. My 6 year old son has been taking swim lessons with this location for the past 3 years and we finally got tired of the inconsistency, neglect, and employee attitudes. This location has decent workout facilities but the swim program is severely lacking. I've been a member with the Rec centers for over 30 years. and see what will work for your budget and situation.ĭon't put your child at rish and avoid their swim program! Read what is included, talk to other parents etc. Depending on WHAT you need, this may be a great deal. There aren't gym type people here, all are welcome the same.I do wish the city would offer local residents more bang for our buck and extend programing for a broader audience range, making the rec more accessible for single parents and grandparents with their grandkids. ![]() The pool here is well kept and, it's basic vs other locations in terms of no slides, but the showers get hot and it is a family friendly environment. If you're a parent, you will pay for the childcare, which is currently ages 2-8. If you just want equipment use, pool, no kids in tow, a gymnasium with b-ball games etc, then the $104 rate is what you'd pay. In addition, if you do want to take unlimited classes, that is $34 a month. Other facilities offer supervised care through age 12, or allow the older child to come with you for a class. The childcare cutoff age is 8 years old.so there still is a gap in the older kids/tween department. Membership has hiked it's way up from $84 to $98 to $108 for an individual the past few years.
